FRESH FOOD
Hermel's vending company is one of only three hundred left in the country with its own fresh food production center. While other vending companies are sub contracting their food out, we are making our own. Taste any meal on our new menu and you'll agree our sandwiches and specialty items taste far better than the frozen food our competition sells. Competing vending companies claim they promote healthy eating habits, but in reality that's where the idea ends. Hermel is an area pioneer in the Heart Smart Program. The Heart Smart program was designed for vending food companies to analyze vending menu's for nutritional content. When our Fresh food production center designs a new sandwich, the item is sent to a lab for measurements on percentage of calories from total fat, percentage of calories from saturated fat, as well as sodium and cholesterol. We make it easy for companies to provide healthy eating habits to their employee's by placing a red heart sticker on the item for easy recognition.

ROUTES
Because Hermel's has doubled in size within the last twenty years, our route structure has changed dramatically. You will find several of our friendly drivers starting their day at 1:30am. Hermel vending operates over 21 routes servicing the two state areas. Each month, a manager from A. H. Hermel Co. will travel to your business to do a detailed inspection of the machines located in your facility. Because our route drivers are on the road all day, gas mileage is of number one concern. Several fleet vehicles include the new Dodge Sprinter Van's, which average 21 miles per gallon. Keeping fuel costs low allows us to give the customer the lowest pricing possible.
TECHNOLOGY
Each new piece of vending equipment comes standard with a new technology called DEX. DEX stands for Digital Exchange and was originally created for the grocery industry. This exciting new software allows our route drivers to plug electronic handheld devices into the machine for accurate sales calculations as well how many vends each spiral made in our snack machines. Another exciting technology A.H. Hermel Co. has been a leader in is called SureVend. SureVend is a feature installed on all new Crane-National glass front snack machines. This system is a series of processors that ensure if money is put into a vending machine, product will drop or a refund will be made. If the SureVend sensors located in the bottom of the snack machine don't detect product has fallen, the spiral will continue to turn until you receive your item. If you still do not get the product you paid for, a refund will be made.
